Games Britannia - Joystick Generation

In this final episode of Games Britannia, Woolley looks at some early computer games such as Pacman and Space Invaders to the more recent games and how they’ve evolved.

He begins with games from the 1980’s that were played on arcade machines, some of which are still played today and have inspired many more game developers. He then looks at more developed computer games including 3D games such as the Tomb Raider games with Lara Croft in the 90s. We also see how much characters design in games have developed and how they have personalities and allows the player to become more involved and attached to the story.

Finally he looks at even more recent and violent video games such as Grand Theft Auto and World of Warcraft, a game that uses the internet to allow players all across the world to play and communicate with each other.
